RCIA Second Semester Resumption Week: A Strong and Impactful Beginning
RCIA Second Semester Resumption Week: A Successful Online Academic Engagement
Redemption Chaplaincy International Academy (RCIA) successfully commenced its Second Semester with a highly impactful Resumption and Seminar Week held from 10th–15th February 2026. The programme was presented fully online via the Academy’s official Telegram Seminar Platform, demonstrating RCIA’s continued commitment to accessible and technology-driven academic delivery.
Anchored on the theme “Contemporary Challenges and Professional Responsibilities in Chaplaincy Practice,” the seminar provided a structured and intellectually rich orientation for the semester ahead. All four lectures were delivered by Ojatuwase Segun Samuel, whose comprehensive presentations combined academic scholarship with field-based experience in chaplaincy practice.
Across the six days, participants engaged critical and contemporary issues shaping modern chaplaincy ministry. Discussions examined the role of chaplains in crisis and trauma situations, emphasizing presence, resilience, and responsible intervention. Ethical foundations were reinforced through sessions on confidentiality, professional boundaries, and accountability in institutional contexts.
The seminar further explored chaplaincy within multi-faith and pluralistic societies, highlighting respectful engagement and professional balance. In addition, the complementary relationship between spiritual care and mental health practice was thoroughly addressed, clarifying the chaplain’s supportive role within interdisciplinary care systems.
Despite being hosted online, participation was strong and consistent. Diploma, Master’s, and PhD students, alongside lecturers and invited guests, actively engaged in thoughtful discussions and reflective contributions throughout the week. The digital format allowed for wide participation while maintaining academic depth and order.
The Resumption Week successfully:
Re-established academic focus and discipline
Strengthened professional and ethical consciousness
Clarified expectations for the new semester
Reinforced RCIA’s commitment to excellence in chaplaincy education
The successful online seminar has laid a solid foundation for a productive and impactful Second Semester at Redemption Chaplaincy International Academy. With renewed clarity, unity, and professional momentum, RCIA continues to advance its mission of raising competent, ethical, and contextually relevant chaplains for global service.
